ANNUAL CONFERENCE ATTRACTS 700 PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE STATE, AND BEYOND TO SARATOGA The 2015 Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State (CP of NYS) Annual Conference returned to Saratoga Springs in October after a year in downtown Albany. Nearly 700 people from all 24 CP of NYS Affiliates were on hand to hear nationally renowned speakers on issues critical to people with disabilities, their families and those who provide supports and services. Attendees at one of more than 50 break-out sessions and meetings at the 2015 CP of NYS Annual Conference Featured speakers included Kerry A. Delaney, Acting Commissioner of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Matthew Holder, President, American Academy of Developmental Disabilities, Davin Robinson, Chief of Staff, and Dee Levy, Director of Individual and Family Support, The Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and Christine Coia, Director of Special Education, HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy, and Andrea Green, Music Therapist and Composer. The Conference also featured more than two dozen photos and works of art as part of the annual art competition.  Visions of New York art contest entries on display at the Saratoga Hilton. More than 50 educational sessions on topics including: autism; an interdisciplinary model of health care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; an overview of the process to becoming a Federally Qualified Health Center; OPWDD employment and day services; effective uses of social media; and health care revenue enhancement.
